Grameen review report filed

A commission reviewing the working of the Grameen Bank has submitted its report to the Ministry of Finance.

The Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said he had asked the commission to file a separate set of suggestions to deal with Gameen Bank’s close to 58 sister organizations.

Chairman of the Grameen Bank Commission and former secretary Mamunur Rashid placed his final report around noon on Monday, Finance Minister told bdnews24.com.

“In the final document, the commission has added some structural matters to its interim report. There isn’t a lot of difference to what they filed earlier”, said Muhith.

“I have what I needed. Now I will take step-by-step measures for Grameen Bank.”

“I am taking this to be the commission’s final report. But I have requested them to quickly submit a separate set of recommendations on measures that can be taken for the 58 sister organisations of the Grameen Bank.”

He said the government would be able to act once it had the suggestions.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet has approved a proposal to turn into law the Grameen Bank ordinance, making it compulsory for the bank to submit its accounts to the central bank.

The law will be passed in the ongoing session of Parliament. “The commission’s report was highly required before placing the bill in Parliament. This is the reason why I was rushing them. But there aren’t any more problems now.”

Nobel laureate Mohammed Yunus had been the Bank’s MD since its formation.

The Bangladesh Bank removed Yunus in 2011 because he had crossed the permissible age to hold the post.

The position has remained vacant since.

A documentary aired on the Norwegian national TV in 2010 accused Yunus of transferring foreign funds from one account to another without informing the donors.

The government formed a commission to probe the allegation.

A section of the media said recently that the Grameen Bank Commission had recommended decentralization of the Bank’s structure in its primary report.

Have You Ever Considered Working From Home Online?

Afsana Sen from Dhaka never thought that she would work online, until curiosity got the best of her and she ordered a course from Millionaire author Kavitha Mehra called Income From Home. Before she knew it, she discovered her secret to beating the recession, and being able to provide for her family while at home with her three children.
I heard about Afsana from a colleague last month and decided to feature her story in our weekly consumer report. In our phone interview she told me her amazing story. "I actually make a steady 70,0000- 135,000,00 taka a month working from home online. It's enough to comfortably replace my old jobs income, especially considering I only work about 15 hours a week from my own home online. It gives me so much time to spend with my family and be a good home maker also have plenty of time to focus on my kids education"
Working online has been a financial heaven for Afsana, who struggled for months to find a decent job but kept hitting dead ends. "I lost my job shortly after the recession hit, I needed reliable income. I just needed a legitimate way to earn a living for me and my family. The best part of working online is that I am always home with the kids. Thanks to the Multiple Streams of Income. I am giving my kids the childhood they deserve."
I asked her about how she started her life-changing journey. "It was pretty easy", I saw an ad by Kavitha Mehra about a course called Income From Home. I knew about Kavitha Mehra from TV and knew she was legit, and since they offered a "365 Day Money Back Guarantee" - I figured I really had nothing to lose. so I invested in the course.
I got the course and within five weeks I had made over 300,000 taka!!! Its really simple, I am not a computer whiz, but I can use the internet. I follow simple instruction. "I don't even have to sell anything and nobody has to buy anything from me". There are openings all over the country, you should try it."
The companies you work with are worth over 1 Billion and are the most used sites in the internet market place, like Amazon, Google, Walmart, Delta, Apple and more... You're using the top ranked sites in the world, over 50 percent of all internet traffic flows through them everyday. It's a great opportunity and this has been helping people work at home online for over 5 years. Why not get in with the internet's best and biggest companies?
From my conversation with Kavitha, "I am making a good salary from home online, which is amazing, under a year ago I was jobless in a horrible economy. Today I make about 1,000Tk/Hr and I don't even have to leave the house. I thank God every day that I filled out that form and got my kit just minutes later."
Quickly, Afsana Sen was able to use the simple Income From Home to make it out of the recession.

How to Use Social Media to Promote Your Business

As a work-at-home mom, are you promoting your small business on social media sites? If you’re not, you're making a big mistake. You can no longer be silent and hope that the business comes to you.

But where do you start? There are so many social media options that you’ve got to have a strategy.

Determine your assets. Before you start engaging in social media, look at your business and decide what you are going to promote. Who are your target customers? What are your assets? Will you offer coupons or discounts?

  1. Sign up for social media pages. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linked In, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram...there are many social media outlets. Chances are they won't all work for you and your business, but don't let that stop you from exploring your options. Facebook and Linked In allow you to create a business page that people can follow and promote. Twitter is a great place to get new customers by using hash tags. Here is a great article about hash tags and how to use them.

  2. Create an account on Hoot Suite. Here you can update all your postings at one time, rather than logging into each social media account separately. This will save you lots of time! You can also schedule your messages to be sent in the future so you don’t have to sit at your computer all day, or you can go on vacation and still promote your business via social media messages.

  3. Post statuses and updates before focusing on followers. Many people will look at your social media page before deciding to follow you, so make sure you have some content on the page before you promote the page. Provide valuable information about your company; post pictures of your business or people enjoying your business. If you have videos on YouTube, share those videos on your other social media accounts.

  4. Locate followers. Obviously friends and family will be friends with you and follow you. Ask them to promote your business through their personal page to gain more followers. Search keywords related to your business on Twitter to find followers. Search your town and surrounding towns to find news outlets, city officials and bloggers.

  5. Keep your friends and followers interested. Get to know your followers. Don’t always promote your business when talking to them over social media -- get to know them personally. Find out more about their business (and promote it). More business for you will follow in the long run.

  6. Vary your updates. They don’t always have to be about your business. Post inspirational quotes and funny cartoons, share interesting articles and promote other businesses that you have had success with. Make sure it’s not always about you and your business.

Use social media wisely and your business will start to flourish. It may take some time, but the Internet has made it easier than ever to make and maintain relationships with your customers. Once you spend a little time developing the knowledge and familiarity with social networking tools, you will eventually see a boost to your clientele.
